The Mayor of London’s defines Green Procurement as part of the Green Procurement Code.

If the government is serious about green procurement, then shouldn’t it be pushing eProcurement more? This will help to cut down on administration and paperwork, encourage web based catalogues rather than paper based catalogues, and promote eInvoicing to cut down on administration errors.
eProcurement will also help to reduce the carbon footprint by reducing the number of pieces of paper used, and the amount of post sent in terms of ordering, receiving and paying for procured items.
